We would like to introduce you to Simone, a wonderful and lovely dog behaviourist who has worked with Vinnie at PAAW HQ to help deal with his anxiety.
Simone who runs Pawsitive, was introduced to us by our doggie friend and colleague Bibi who she has been helping for some time. For those who have been following his adventures you may be aware that Vinnie can be an anxious little dog in unfamiliar situations. We hate to see him missing out on playtime and parties so we introduced him to Simone who has helped us to better understand his behaviour and given us the tools to allow Vinnie to relax in company. Thanks Simone for sharing the tools to allow us to do this.
Here Simone tells us why she has the best job in the world (and we here at PAAW House tend to agree)
“I’m Simone Day, and I feel very fortunate to have what I consider to be the best job in the world! I’m a canine trainer and behaviourist based in SE London helping people with everything from choosing the right puppy to resolving complex behavioural problems in dogs and anything in between.
I am originally from Canada where I grew up on a horse farm surrounded by all sorts of animals but have lived in the UK for nearly 30 years now.

Back in the mid-90s, one of my dogs had a behavioural problem, and I found it very difficult to get good advice. I also knew I was not the only one in this position and saw a need for someone that could provide good, useful information and support. This is how I began my journey into what is the most exciting and fulfilling career that I could hope for, meeting and helping a fantastic variety of dogs and their owners.
I hold a master’s degree in treating canine behaviour problems and have nearly 20 years’ experience helping dogs to become well behaved and happy members of their community.
My current canine companions are Milo, an eight-year-old Teacup Chihuahua, and Jingo a five-year-old Staffie. I’ve also previously shared my life with two Great Danes, a Bullmastiff, a Dalmatian, and several crossbreeds all but one was re-homed from a variety of backgrounds. With all that experience and my training I know, without a doubt, dogs are one of the best companions to have.“
